went out on service call today, while i was there customer says dishwasher has been smelling of rotten egg! not all the time just once a week maybe. i dont think the fault is with the machine as they say it happened to a previous dishwasher. they are on their own water supply, could this be something to do with it? it is filtered. i suggested next time it happens make a list of all items in machine (maybe plastic container?) then the next time check the list and see if same items are in the machine, cant really think of any causes myself, anyone had similar problem before?

Is the dishwasher drain pumping out into a open drain pipe? Or if it’s connected to the sink then the overflow vent in the sink may be suspect?Finally….PCB relay terminal burning up maybe?

Sounds like a case of corrosion in iron water supply pipework giving off hydrogen sulphide gas which has the classic ‘rotten eggs’ smell 😉

that sounds like a nice technical answer to tell the customer. apparently the customer got rid of his miele because of that smell and replaced it with a nice new merloni made hotpoint.
