i have had a bosch classixxx dishwasher now for just over 3 yrs and its on at least once a day. and to be fair it has been faultless for most of its time.
however last night it seemed to give up the ghost. when you load it then select program and click start – it doesnt seem to do anythig, you get a grinding noise, almost like a pump. no water enters the machine, the sprayers remain stationary and the power try stays sealed. for my simple brain it is either a pump issue or a computer/board issue but i aint a specialist.
as you see i have cleverly deduced that its knackered but i cant work out just how knackered. and i wondered if any of you bright folks had experienced the same problem, and if so did you manage to fix or is it like most things today and designed only to last for so loong?

It could just be something as simple as a bit of debris stopping the pump from running. If it doesn’t drain and clear the sump then it will halt.
So, you could be chucking out a perfectly okay machine for the sake of a chicken bone!
It happens all the time, over 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of appliances thrown away have no fault at all, a further 25-30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} have very minor ones that could be repaired for under £100 easily, often just a labour charge. People just assume it’s a PCB or timer and throw the machines away, mostly incorrectly.

cheers m8, i have just found the basic faults page on here (very informative btw), and like you think and hope its something simple – i could do without a replacement cost at this time of the yr. will spend some time with my head stick into it tonight,

thanks for the advice, after 20 mins with my head in it i managed to find two plum stones (no jokes please) lodged in the pump. bloody kids. got them out and now works a treat.
