Just thought I would post this and see what everyone’s opinion are. 😉
My old eyesight is getting worse as the years pass 😥 and I am getting a bit annoyed with all this eco friendly low energy lighting that customers have in their houses, basically it’s crap, worse still is the appliance at one side of the room, light at the other. 😥
I find that I have to use a torch to see what I doing on most jobs 😥 I was wondering how everyone else copes and can anyone recommend a suitable portable light system, what do you use?

I use a miners helmet which is so very useful ! Not only does it keep the light right on where you are working but the other week I had a angry customer who treid to hit me over the head with a frying pan, needless to say that helmet took the blow and I was ok !
I am now thinking of getting a Pit Pony to cut down on my motor running costs !

did that snuff the candle out though ? that could have been a nasty H&S burn situation !

I know what you mean Mal, I use a mechanics lead light with a real 100 watt incandescent lamp! Stock up on them though, Wont be available soon.

Yes, it is a pain. I often need the torch just to see my tool bag. I use an LED headlight but it gets very grubby from doing carbon brushes and leaves black marks on my forehead. Perhaps I should go on Dragons Den with one where you could remove the outer shell + straps and wash them in the washing machine 💡

8 watt flourescent leadlight from aldi/lidls three quid when there in stock. I keep one in the office as a spare. thin enough to hang down the inside of a washer fits inside oven etc wouldnt be without one.
