    Has anyone been charged a “weee directive charge” on supplies of bulbs and fluorescent tubes? (They don’t take back any old ones we have)

    all fluor prices had a levey added months ago, i struck a deal with my supplier, “if i buy them from you, you take my old ones, seeing as you have charged extra.” they agreed. i then had to register my store to hold hazardous waste. and have a waste carriers licence of course.

    I have just bought some lamps for an american f/f from my local trade supplier and the bill is itemised with 15p per item WEEE charge.
    Seems a bit steep for 40p lamps especially as it is subject to VAT.

    Bet they don’t charge this at Poundshop 👿
