Fault code F13. Its a dryer NTC fault, could be a loose wire, faulty fan, blocked condensor, faulty NTC etc.
The filter is inside the main sump hose, behind the small lower back panel inside the big black rubber sump hose.

Thanks for the info gents.
So is it a call out jobbie? and in your expert opinion how much would be too much to pay for a resolution?
please note that any figures quoted will be not be taken as advice – just needed so that I am not taken for a ride!!!!
Thanks again people

My 2 and a half year old WD440 developed the same fault last night.
I took the filter out and cleared a 10p coin, a washer and some sellotape from it last night and it’s still got the problem so I assume it’s an NTC fault as suggested in earlier posts. As the original poster asked, will this be something I can fix myself or will I need to call an engineer? (I’m a reasonably competent DIYer.)
FWIW, my machine’s been knocking badly since new but it’s always worked fine so I haven’t investigated.
Thanks very much.

One thing I always stress to my customers, “there is virtually nothing to service on a modern washing machine but you should never ignore a leak or a noise” :lesson:
The NTC for the dryer is situated on top of the dryer heater box, fault can often be caused by a simple broken wire, they are very weak at this point.
