I have a replacement thermostat coming in the post and have worked out most of the removal/replacement procedure. The one thing I am slightly puzzled about is where does the capillary go? It runs the entire length of the housing that contains the light and mains cable and then disappears. I assume that it runs around the back of the cabinet, but is it fixed, does it run in/on anything. Can anything else be remived to aid fitting.

    All help gratefully received.

It will all become clear as you attempt to remove it, capillary is clamped at the bottom right of evaporator, release the screw in the bottom corner to allow access then remove the two smaller screws, these screw into a small plate that clamps the end of the stat capillary to the evap plate. Its all inside the cabinet.

Thermostat not arrived yet but I’ve had a peek at the evaporator. Space looks a bit tight. Can it be lifted away from the back of the fridge to allow access to the clamp or is this a job for dainty fingers?

As I said, just remove the bottom right hand screw, it will ease forwards just enough to get your fingers behind. you could take both evaporator fixing screws out if you like but be very careful not to pull it out too far.

Thanks for the advice, it was really as simple as it sounded and the fridge is working fine now.
