overfilling checked pressure hose and unscrewed pressure vessel and both ok no air leaks, put replacment hose onto pressure switch and blew carefully to check operation and fill stop and then wash and works, im presuming the calibration of the switch is now out and requires more pressure for it to operate? and is a special order part from qualtex although they list two, its not the one with inline connection have looked on hotpoint website it doesent contain part numbers but has 17342e low w/d and this is the correct switch for date code.

thanks in advance for any assitance simonb

Are you sure the pressure tube hadn’t just dropped to low?
Also you say you checked the tube for air leaks, how about the end of the tube and the end of the pressure vessel was there any muck narrowing them?

i did give the tube itself a good inspection as i know this is normally the culprit looking for a small hole or crud in the tube as you say, i took off the vessel and looked into the opening as it joins the pipe, so its had a good look over yes i see your point though its all to easy to miss something ill think for safetys sake id prefer to change both pipe and switch as the thought of it overfilling brings nighmares8O, not too sure about the pipe dropping too low? is it important for it not to drop below the vessel height? before it makes it way upto the switch? good to know for future reference if its important. simonb
