Got a call to this machine which customer described as totally dead. sure enough, when i got there the facia had no lights & the door wouldnt lock. Popped the lid off & established we had a mains supply, tried nipping up the scrawny edge connectors on the facia PCB & prodded the on button again, the machine then sprang back to life!

Invited customer to try it herself which seemed to go well & left her pleased as punch & the machine performing normally. Shes back on blower this morning complaining its the same as before now, agreed to take another look, then she calls 5 mins later to say she gave the power button a few more pushes & its now happily doing a load :rolls:
ANYWAY, was wondering if i should be looking to replace facia PCB ? The job of course, is a 40 mile round trip away, these ones always are.

take it off, and refit everything first

one of the naff pieces of plastic will be unclipped

id be trying that first, its quite common

Do you mean the board isnt mounted properly helo? TBH the buttons felt ok to the touch, but i’ll certainly pay some attention to that if she insists on dragging me back.
God i’m getting SOO sick of trying to make a silk purse out o a pigs ear with Indesit products, you simply cant use the buggers 3 times a day as this customer does, can you :rolls:

the other thing to look at of course, is the solder joints on the on off switch itself

luckily, its still on, quite often they drop off

you obviously havent had the joyous wd860p pcb scenario yet

    good luck
