We have this dishwasher but it has not been working for ages. It will fills but then proceeds to empty itself on any program.
Can anyone advise as to how I can fix this?

Presumably the flood protection system is cutting-in the drain pump. This will be caused by a water level switch failure, a blockage in the pipework or a computer problem.

Being a SMEG-built machine, the programme LEDs should come up with an error code.

We don’t have an instruction book. Out of the 4 top lights for programs, the 2 on the right light up. Now it won’t fill either. Is there a resolution for the problem as I have checked, cleared, cleaned all pipework, sensor etc. Can I purchase a new ‘whatever’ online? I’m ok to fit new parts myself.

There should be 5 LEDs for the wash programmes. If a fault is displayed, a combination of the four left hand lights should flash, with the right hand one steady. If they do not conform to that pattern, you may need to have a read of THIS. Corruption issues are all too common on these machines.

When I turn the dishwasher on, the 4th and 5th LED flash. The page link you gave does not show error codes/actual cause. I have already replaced the supressor. Will purchase correct fitting when cause is identified

Sounds like it needs reset as the test program has been selected in error, to correct it…

With the door open, turn the appliance on and, within three seconds, push 4 times on the program selection button – The test program has been selected if the SOAK and STRONG pilot lamps are flashing.

If, after applying the reset procedure, the above indication is not shown on the display, switch the appliance off and commence the reset procedure again, from the beginning.

Once the two outer LED’s are illuminated push on the program selection button once to select the version “without flow meter” and check that the pilot lamp of the SOAK indicator is off, as indicated below.

To complete the procedure, do not close the door, simply switch the appliance off. After a short delay, 10 to 15 seconds, switch the appliance back on and test on a SOAK program.

If you don’t understand that I’d advise that you call an engineer in that knows the machines.

Thanks already read about the resetting and tried procedure many times in hope.
Just get 4th and 5th LED flashing.
    Thank you for advising
Can you suggest what else it could be or anything else I can try?

Good news – reset success! It ‘soaked’.
Now I can’t seem to get any program changes other than 1st program LED lit up for ‘soak’.
Can I get further with your help?
Superb forum – thank you so much Whitegoods!

    Not really TBH.

There’s a number of things that could be the issue, including the main PCB timer but it’s too expensive to start swapping bits in the hope you nail the faulty part.
