ParticipantI would really appreciate some advice. I have done a search and can’t find this exact problem, normally quite the opposite in fact.
We bought a second-hand Zanussi ZDI 6041 on Saturday.
The dial is broken, so I cannot see where the programs (A-D) should be, but looked up a pic on a spares website, so now know approximately where program B (normal) should be.
I have run it through 5 times now, and twice it has leaked really badly from the bottim lh corner under the door – like a tap running. We have laminate-tile flooring so this is not good.
I think the program is sticking, so that it keeps filling and filling. I watched the whole cycle today and it seemed to stick at one point, but was ok when I moved it on a notch.
Does it just need a new dial (easily done) and a bit of WD40 or is it a far bigger problem?
Many thanks.

Must add that I’ve just removed the filters and they are thick with white stringy stuff :eeek: (grease?) so I am soaking them at the mo.
It washes and dries beautifully, when it doesn’t flood the place …

OK am talking to myself now 😆 but I have run it with a cup of soda crystals, squirted some wd40 onto the dial and adjusted a dial inside from 2 to 1. No flooding.
Will try it with a Fairy capsule next.

Pretty much. 12 different versions of that machine, so pNc number would help.
Split bottom rotor will throw water everywhere, sludge in the water level control system can cause the machine to overfill.

Thank you. I am wondering if the machine was tilted slightly as it was not in place and attached (we were testing it).
Has run through four times now but I changed so many variables in one go that I have no idea which one worked.
There certainly was a lot of sludge under the filter, which I dealt with.
Will look for the exact model.
