This frost-free fridge freezer is about 15 months old. About 3 months ago we found the fridge wasn’t cold. Freezer is working fine. As it was only a couple of months out of warranty we called Electrolux but they quoted £70 plus VAT call out plus parts. They suggested however that we try and defrost the whole lot for 24hrs then switch it back on. It appeared to be fine afterwards for about 4 weeks but the same problem has now occurred for the third time. Any suggestions on how we can fix it would be much appreciated. Tried to find the thermostat but can’t see it anywhere?
You may have to pay up for an engineer on this one.
This is a frost free appliance so unless you want to get involved in removing the evaporator cover, checking the ice build up, defrost heaters, air vents, fan etc I would recommend calling your local engineer. (most local engineers are cheaper than Electrolux).Finally remember if you are going to defrost the appliance 24 hours may not be long enough, the ice build up may be a few inches thick and ice cube consistancy.
