Whilst cleaning my condenser unit out I noticed that the drum housing had cracked, leading to a small amount of leakage (dripping onto the end of the motor casing and then the plastic sheet at the bottom of the unit).
I cleaned off the rubbish to find a crack about two inches long. It’s close to where the electrical connections to the heater element and thermostat are at the bottom of the housing.
I chose to repair this with an application of this http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/ambersil-oven-door-glass-hinge-heat-resistant-glue stuff, which I had in from a previous repair. Hopefully this will seal ok, although if the crack grows it will need more I guess.
Any idea what the cause might have been or if my repair will hold..?
