Woops, sorry Im a newbie and put this on the wrong board I think.

Will try again on the dishwasher board 🙂

I have a Diplomat dishwasher APD8332 which came as part of a pack from MFI :rolls: including a fridge and freezer.

Although I have only used it for 10 months – it was hanging around waiting to be plumbed in for several months before that as we were finishing off our kitchen extension. So, not in guarantee.

Over the weekend it was not filling with water – Id turn it on, you could here it draining and then it would seem to start but would stop after 30 secs or so and there was a loud ticking noise. OH took apart the hoses etc. to ensure there was no blockage – Id already done the filters. Nothing. Today an engineer came, tutted a lot and then showed me the motor which was wet inside. He told me this was a common problem with Diplomat/Whirlpool. He said he could replace the motor but the board may have been blown too 🙁

Ive already paid him £50 to tell me this good news. He says he could try a second hand motor on the washer and if that works and the board seems sound he could then order a new motor.

My question is, with all these possible parts plus his call out fee – would I be better biting the bullet and buying a new, better machine now – and if so, what is a better machine please.

Circulation pump is a KNOWN ISSUE, which Whirlpool won’t own up to. They made it, BTW. It’s a long time since I had a pump AND pcb problem. Generally, replacing the circulation pump is a one-time fix.

    Your call though……

£88 for the pump – its a hard call isnt it. I just wonder if something else will go wrong and I end up paying out hundreds on this thing.

    Many thanks for your help.
