ParticipantI have the usual spinning dial and the original count fault code was 10, regardless of setting the machine decided it needed to drain.
Having looked through the various advice I have cleaned the water level sensor, gunge everwhere, and tried again. No difference. But when I disconnecting the sensor ,and select a wash, the machine starts (water in), but then the dial starts to spin and I get fault code 3. Do I need to reset the system somehow, or do i have another fault. I have seen one instance of FC3, ‘ntc ‘was mentioned, but I don’t know what that is.
I have checked the resistance of the heater element, but my old metre needs a new battery. I can determine that there is not an open circuit, but not the actual resistance.November 14, 2008 at 9:59 pm #268588helo_75
Participantif you disconnect the pressure sensor, the f03 fault will occur, because the switch has a heater protect circuit
ultimately, the answer is to try a new pressure switch
experience would point to a pcb failure in all honesty, but it isnt unusual for the pressure switch to have failed
the ntc, is the temperature sensor, and dependin on production is either fitted as a disc on the backplate or in the heater itself
simple test of an ntc is to check resistance, then apply warmth to achieve resistance change?
hope this helps a little

Thank you for such a prompt reply.
i thought afterwards that the system may have sensed it both ways, i.e. a fault and then that it was missing. I am busy most of this weekend, but as the kettle has just bolied i will try a quick an dirty resistance check before i head off to work. Untimately i will order a sensor as it was pretty gunged on the surface when i removed it. As advised it was above the heater element.November 18, 2008 at 6:04 pm #268590robinandelaine

Hi again. Just changed the thermister. The original fault is still there, it still insists on pumping regadless of initial setting. I have however discovered that if i leave the thermistor disconnected I can get the wash cycle to start. This proves the pressure switch at the inlet so at least that is illiminated. With the pcb looming any other checks before I commit.
