Whirlpool for IKEA DWF 417 stops cycle after about 3 minutes

Hello, my machine seems to be unable to start a cycle. It begins filling with water but then just stops, no beeps or noises. When i open the door there is about half an inch of water at the bottom which i can only remove by initiating the program cancellation procedure. The soap dish remains closed and there are no flashing lights on the display (only the light of my chosen program remains lit). Any ideas? Thanks!

Three versions of this machine; one made by Bosch and two by SMEG. Yes, I know it says Whirlpool on the front……. Need the 12nc number from the rating label to identify which one we’re dealing with.
