I recently had a new kitchen fitted, and very reluctantly disposed of a 28 year old Zanussi washing machine, and a Creda tumble dryer (at least 15 years old), both still in good working order.
I’d heard that washer-dryers were not as good as separates, but I read a couple of favourable reviews of the EWX14440W, and, looking to save space, went ahead and bought one.
All I can say is Electrolux must have written those reviews themselves, everything I’ve washed so far has shrunk – and I am following the machine instructions and garment recommendations to a tee; and as for the dryer, I didn’t expect miracles from it, but it’s absolutely abysmal. For example, a small fleecy top, the only thing in the dryer – two hours drying and still damp… could it be faulty, or is this the norm?
The Creda dryer I had, had an ‘F’ energy rating, whereas the Electrolux is rated ‘C’ – I don’t think I’m saving much energy wise, the Creda would have dried that top in 40 minutes!
I’m so disappointed… now I’m stuck with this thing, and I’m going to have to buy a tumble dryer.
How I wish I’d kept my old stuff 😥
