    Hi all,

By any chance does anyone have a wiring diagram for the above machine, especially one that doesnt look like harry the spider has run across the page!

i remember seeing a hotpoint repair manual a few years back in hard copy with a good one that was readable?

    Thanks Simonb

I can send you one or two, might have had the odd hairy spider running across them or for anyone old enough to remember “Boris the Spider”. 😆

A prize from the bottom shelf if you know what I am on about without Googling for it. 😉

    Re: HOTPOINT WD61

Thanks Jim recieved and all going well until im left with 4 wires that dont seem to go anywere! 😯

looking at the diagram it seems a bit incomplete, i think harry’s got to this one, anyway im not sure if anyone will know:

    hotvalue: red L wire
    cold value: blue L wire

FIRST EDGE CONNECTOR CLOSEST TO FACIA=BLUE WITH BLACKWIRES(END WIRE IS TO DOOR INTERLOCK)

    going from facia end:
    3rd wire(ps12)
    4th wire (ps11)

now ps12 on diagram connects to blue L wire
ps11 on diagram connects to RED L wire

the blue has a biggyback connector???

they all look like they should go onto something inbetween? on the diagram theres no intermediate connecting componant just wires straight to values?

    help!!!!!!!! 😯

😕 Diagram is as per manual and is a very good copy, nothing missing.

Cannot see any PS 11 or 12 on diagram. Numbers are 1 to 4. AFAIK all wiring to valves is direct ,no connectors in between.

Can you not use the theoretical diagram I sent at the same time to cross reference the wiring? All external wiring is shown as a dotted line on that.

    Re: HOTPOINT WD61

Thanks Trever same diagram, iv checked again, the end multiplug is blue with black wires the last wire at very end says door on, for door interlock, 3rd and 4th wires are only very short as if they go to somewere else nearby (ie pressure switch???? although the wiring seems complete on this as per diagram), so iv definatly working with the correct multiplug, and again a red wire comes from hotvalve up through loom and reaches timer area and has good length on it, also same with blue wire from cold valve(this has a piggy back connection availble for another wire?) so everything else has gone on only these 4 wires left, iv done a wire count on pressure switch and is ok, also on dryer timer and is ok? as per diagram, well the diagram says black on wires from blue plug and they are but does not depict a change in colour to red and blue respectivly, and iv had the back off and checked they are definatly red to hot and blue to cold value.

the diagram in definatly incomplete if only for colour description, as its a simple matter of red and blue on valves?

now im using a new pressure switch as the machine was in bits and unfortualty left the pressure switch behind during removal of appliance, the original switch was larger than the new one im using so im gona take an educated guess that the origal pressure switch accomodates these 4 wires as they would stretch to this area comfortably although the timer interally switches the values on and off with the pressure switch configeration maybe this is some type of overide safety stop incase of timer failure? so as to cut off supply to values with over fill level? if this is the case im still going to struggle as to pressure switch placement of wiring, last time i has this bother i put 2 machines side by side as was easy peasy!

looks like harry the spiders won the day on this one guys!

can anyone send me a wd61 washing machine by email?

    thanks for help simonb

    Re: HOTPOINT WD61

    2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th wires are all shown as going direct to fill valves. 😕 ❓

Wire from hot valve should be black and go direct to blue conn block 4.

Why did he want to change the timer, has he doctored the wiring?

I will see if I can dig anything else up for you. 😉

    Jim.

EDIT. Check your inbox. Looks like there are two different pressure switches. 8)
