    Simply case of Element change, during test no thermostat regulation, oven stays on perminant, rest of oven working ok, when it failed customer reported bang and trip switch activation, am i right in thinking its prob burnt contacts within stat? thanks simon

    youd be right, its pretty common
    change the stat, and ittl cure your problem

    double check the bulb and holder as well had some of these fail s/c and take out the stat as well, just remove the bulb and if the contacts look a mess change it.

    also check switch pack which is sometimes fitted in front of stat and dodgy contacts on this can cause oven not to work properly.
