I have a problem with my Whirlpool dishwasher. It stops early on in the cycle with the start button flashing 9 times. The green lights moves to 40 even though it was started on 50. If I re-start it then it sometimes completes the cycle, although not always. Any help appreciated.

The computer board thinks that the inlet valve won’t turn off. Assuming that it does turn off (You’re not paddling?), this is almost certainly a computer problem.
