ParticipantHi all
Am I the only one having problems with my account at connect. My discount has vanished since the new website has started and when I called them to query it they sad tough I didnt spend £400 last month so wont get good discounts anymore. 1701583 hpt stat £9 is not good, hpt tub rear 1603409 is £39 😯 . Now when I try to log on this morning my account is gone, no log in 👿 . (I think my order from yester day may be returned)
They say this is because they spent millions on a new system ❓ , thats not my fault all I want is cheap prices i was happy with the old dvd.
No wonder they are loosing money maybe they will follow mfi if they keep this up will these compainies ever learn to look after the bassics.
sorry to rant but after 17 years of them getting nearly all of my custom its areal shame to end this way.Paul

Just a quick update
My account is soon to be back on ( I hope )
But my prices will still be bad. 🙁
But I am wondering if my other accounts are just better, and I would like to take this oppertunity to thank them for their good service and It seems my future custom. Masterpart, qualtex, seme, all have prices that are competative for a sole trader which in the present climate and falling work loads is vital. Thanks again to them & my custom will now go there way.

I only stay with Connect because they carry a bigger range of parts than anyone else. If you tell them where to stuff their account you will be the loser in the end because on some parts your only option will be getting parts by special order from one of the smaller suppliers.

That`s the main reason I stay with Connect. Some parts from other suppliers are cheaper but by the time you split your order between 2 or even 3 and pay 3 lots of carriage you end up worse off.

……pardon me if I throw up at all this but Connect are milking you guys for your every penny…. :rolls:
Bigger range of stock they may have but christ almighty do they know how to price it up or what!!! 😕

Martin you have NO idea what I pay for parts from Connect so your statement is complete rubbish!
I have recently priced my spares from elsewhere and the difference is negligible, and in fact Connect are cheaper on most things.
So to say I am being “milked” with absolutely no knowledge to back up your claim is at the least irritating.

I think Connect have got this the wrong way round…….
You don’t get good prices because your monthly spend isn’t high enough so what do you do?
Go elsewhere and reduce your monthly spend even further. If they give competitive prices your monthly spend increases and we’re all happy 🙂
Not exactly rocket science!

Connect prices to me are often cheaper than others although there are still some shockers, but that is the same all over, you just look elsewhere. There are issues with service and delivery but that sees light in another thread 😉

So if the monthly spend increases does the price discount increase or does this need to be sorted with a rep.I lost my agreed discount and they dont seem bothered about sorting it at all

To me,the more you spend the greater the discount they should offer.
what’s the point in ordering a quantity of one item only to find out that someone gets a similar price in singles.
I have to say, apart from a few niggles my business would struggle to run effectively without them.

Hi
I was happy with connect (apart for a complete lack of return credit notes) The prices I used to get were very good with only a £50-£200 per month spend.
Since this new version 2 web site was launched they are sudenly alot dearer, all my other acounts want £30 for a hpt rear tub but connect want £38. hpt t/d stats are £8 when before they were £4.
Beware if you spend less than £400 a month they will remove your discounts to, they dont give a monkeys.
Problem is who in there right mind is going to pay their prices once they are increased, to get back on the over £400 p/m discounts.
I agree they have the best stock and I acept that I dont spend the same as some but My profit margins are bad enough and I already loose to much work to high quotes due to inflated spares costs.
I accept that I will have to pay extra for the spares no one else stocks but ill be ***** if they will get anything else from me.😡 😡 😡

Is this £400 a month an official figure?
Is this the level at which they give more discount?
Just wondering.

Sorry for the delay been away
Yes this is the new official amount £400 a month or loose most of your discount. was also told £4’800 a year which is the same.
Just tryed to log in and still no go asked rep 3 times to get me back on, it seems if you ask for a discount they kick you out.
I oped a new acount with maddocks, prices seem good so i’ll try them for a while, although the stock is a bit hit & miss no hvr bearing kits 05-hv-20 or tub seals 31-hv-31 😯 .December 20, 2008 at 6:23 pm #270529waters
ParticipantRe: Acount problems connect
