I would be grateful if anyone could tell me if they know what is the fault with a Servis Washing Machine M6115S. Here is my investigation so far.
The connection from the controller to the blue terminal of the heating element had over heated – I have made the connection good by replacing the spade connector. The heating element gives a 30 Ohms reading.
Trying a 40-degree wash, it fills with water, the drum turns (at this point a mains tester surprisingly shows 230v at both heating element ends) the drum stops turning & the heater starts (at this point a mains tester shows 230v at just the black heating element end which is connected to the stat). I’m not sure what temp is reached but the water is warm and the heater then cuts off. It must have been cut off by the controller, as the stat is still closed having no power to it. The cycle does not continue, the washer just stands.
There is only one stat having 4 terminals. The black wire from the controller to the heating element go through 2 terminals as NC. The 2 blue wires to the controller are NO.
Does the heating element have an internal fuse? When internal fuses break is the element finished or do they re-set?
When I go straight to rinses they won’t work
When I go to pump/spin this works & I get rid of the water
Is this a controller fault? it is an ELMARC 85 DX-65 SX Ancona 1. If I need one of these, where is the best place to get one from?
Many thanks for reading and in anticipation of any replies, Simon
