    Hi, back again. 🙁

    Initially the machine would just not fill so I thought the problem was a faulty valve solenoid but after stripping it out and reassembling it the machine filled fine.

    However, it failed to get hot (this also happened 3 weeks ago but was remedied by checking element, thermostats and reassembling which led me to believe it was a faulty connection) so this time I again checked the element – 26 ohms; checked the 4 tag safety thermostat – closed so ok; checked the other 2 thermostats (under machine and in door) – both open so ok;

    I then checked (with my multimeter) the disconnected neutral wire (purple) coming off the the heater element and found it was open (not connected to the main incoming appliance neutral (blue) wire. I couldn’t see how it (purple) was supposed to connect to the (blue) wire as it looped into the mechanical timer and onto the main switch.

    I have double checked the IWMS and even removed the main large bottom hose but it is pristine inside (This machine has not done many hours compared to it’s age)

    Suggestions would be much appreciated!!!

    Temperature limiter (75c) clipped on next to the element underneath. Both circuits should be normally closed when split from the circuit. Broken wiring at door pivot possible but unusual these days. Failing that, the timer just isn’t turning the heater on.

    Stay safe, power off when checking – at the moment this just circuit chasing.
