Hi, I’ve had my Ariston for about 5 years and for the last few weeks it will work one day then not the next. Driving me mad because just as I resign myself to get rid, it works. The lights do all the right things but sometimes it will take the water in (if it does this, I know it’ll complete the whole cycle) other times just click, then nothing. Any help would be gratefully received. Thank you.

usually the click will be the door lock locking, if nothing else happens it is most likely that the motor brushes have worn, please unplug before checking them

Hi again. Had a look at the motor brushes and they did not appear worn (but i’ve never looked at one before so probably wouldn’t know anyway). What I did notice though is that when I press the on button, it does what it should and then there is dull thud at the back where the pipes attach to the machine. It’s as if the water can’t get through to start the cycle. I’ve checked that the water supply is running through the hoses, they’re not twisted and the filters appear clear. Could it be the valve do you think? Thanks
