Participantits just taken me about an hour and half to change the bl@@##y belt on this thing 😡 front off, timer off, switches off, heater off, every bl@@dy thing else off ❗ drum out, took the plastic cover off the motor ,slipped the belt on, round the 2 tension arms, slipped the drum in gently 😯 , lined up the screws for the back/heater, put most of it back together, then realised the belt had f”£$!*g slipped off the tensioner 😡 all out again ❗ i would like to meet the person who designed this. why not let the sides come off ,like those lovely indesit ones 😈 instead they decided to weld the whole thing :rolls: then the customer says “i thought a belt, would only take a couple of minutes” never again ❗

thats easy compared to a white knight condensor dryer belt change. 😆
its hardly surprising we dont make anything anymore if that is the best we have to offer.December 10, 2008 at 11:20 pm #271255iadom

I did my first ever White Knight, newish condensor dryer belt a few weeks back, I found it awkward but not as bad as any Candy machine I have encountered.
Hardest part was pulling the drum rear bearing support back into line with the belt round the drum. The rest was fairly straighforward IMHO of course. 😉

Now that you know how long it takes, you can quote for the job properly next time. Then it’s the customers call and you should still make money!
I don’t mind how difficult the job is, providing it’s priced up correctly in the first place.

i will fix these machines for people ……….but as you say has to be extra money for this amount of time ……….or avoid the sh……t and tell the customer there are better dryers to buy ……..and to spend your money on fixing

Bl**dy bargain I reckon…I’m going to give all my HNC160 customers your number if that’s OK? 😉
I normally demand £100 up front and a meal for 2 at The Ivy..:rotl:
