ParticipantThe naturally conservative (with a small c) folks around here dont seem to be tempted to buy this eastern tat, so this is the first one i’ve had a call for.
Its an old customer, so i feel obliged to at least lift the lid before helping her to take it to the skip. ANYWAY, Mod, according to my punter is HW-C1280 Dunno if that makes sense?Basically, she says the digital display is locked on one prog & wont respond to any dial twirling. Worth a look, or a waste of Diesel??
Thanks, Eddie.December 12, 2008 at 4:43 pm #271376helo_75

KeymasterRe: My first Haier…. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Expertcat,
The common reason is that the customer uses tablets, they don’t dissolve completely and it overfoams and then floods into the base when it gets to a rinse. This problem is worse if the customer uses 3/1, 4/1 etc. tabs and then rinse aid as well. The base floods and it blows up.
Sometimes they even work for a bit after you tell the customer that. 😉
Another one is that if you open the door once filled it creates a “wave” that overflows into the base and blows it up.
Other than that, they just leak and then, blow up.

Went to this today, tried helo’s tip of on/ start/pause off. Bugger me it worked 😯 Thanks helo 😉
So all the while my punter was practically draped over my shoulder noting what i was up to. Was she pleased when greeted with the sight of a working machine again?? Was she bollox, “oh you could have told me that over the phone , you get your money easy dont you” etc etc.Even when i reduced my callout to £20 basically just to cover my costs she was still implying i should be wearing a mask.. cant bloody win can we 👿

Well, she & her hubby had been fiddling with the thing for days, to no avail. Her saviour (me) got it back to normal in approx 4 secs. So, make of that what you will. Anyway, like i said, you cant win with some peeps. 🙁

Participantno, i wasnt taking the michael… its a known thing
its the only way to reset it
what you should do for future reference, is take the lid off, take the three screws off the bezel, remove it with pcb in tact, pretend to mess with the pcb with yer meter.. puit it all back together, then charge em £80 for buying a pile of sh!t
the facts dont change, whether they think it was easy or not, they didnt know did they?
nail their hats on, they care little for you
thats what i sayDecember 17, 2008 at 7:41 pm #271387Madmac
