ParticipantSon has just taken on a new flat and the Electrolux hob whilst working, has a crack in the glass. It can only be 2 years old. Is it possible to get a spare part for this or will he have to buy a whole new unit please?

Glass will be available, but expensive. Model number and pNc number required to identify, though.

Prices likely to start at £100 + VAT……… You need to consider whether or not you can do the job yourself or need to pay a repairer to do the job on top.

Hi Penguin, have the book here now. Its a EHP 6602K.
Ive tried to google for one but apart from one already sold on ebay cant find it. I should think its been superceded – do you know which model has superceded it please as it has to fit into a marble worktop and obviously dont want even more expense changing the hole for it 😯
Many thanks.

Three versions, fortunately they all use the same glass – p/no 3196051-01/9. None of my suppliers show a price for it. Your best bet will be to have a word with spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk quoting that number. If Dave can’t find it, it isn’t out there.

Found it P45!!
Around the £240 – £250 mark (item supply only). 😯
If your hob glass has been accidentally damaged then a call to your house insurer may be worthwhile. Should be covered.Hope that helps!!

Many thanks guys – its a HUGE amount – particularly when a whole new unit can be bought for £173 online. How on earth can they charge that much for the spare. Sadly, the damage was done prior to him just buying the flat this week, so no joy re insurance.
Thanks for your trouble though.
