today i have been to my sisters to try and fix her machine! It had tripped the main circuit breaker for the house! Upon inspection i found that the concrete block fitted to the bottom of the drum housing had completly fell off and wedged itself against the main motor cables and causing one or all of them to touch earth. I refixed the concrete block and checked/repaired cables as req. When i switched macihne on , it fills, then the motor appears to go into full speed for 2 secs then stops. it then starts again, then stops, it does this once more before stopping with the drain pump running, the ON/Off light flashing very fast, and the RINSE HOLD light on! the only way i can reset the machine is by switching the machine off at the mains. Any Ideas please?

You need to check the tacho wires. The tacho is a motor speed sensor, consisting of a magnet mounted on the motor spindle and a coil mounted on the motor casing. Trace the wires from the coil to the motor multi pin socket and onward, looking for damage. The wires only poke into the motor plug so can get pulled out.
