KeymasterI’ve been think, yes I do realise that it’s dangerous…
What if we were to do some PR work in 2009?
Just thinking, credit crunch where repair is cheaper than replace, sustainability, green credentials… so much to play on.

Thats until Comet & Curry’s et al join all the others with a 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off sale. :rolls: 😀
The current downturn will most certainly have an effect, I noticed it the last time, and the one before that, and the one bef……….. 😥
My work load stayed nice and steady throughout. A little nudge in the right places would be a good idea IMHO. 🙂

Well my thinking was to make hay while the sun shines, promote all that we do and see where it goes.
Problem is, it’s not cheap to do in context with the budget that we have but I do reckon it could be worth a punt in the current climate. PITW, people are more aware of trying to save money and get value right now so I shouldn’t think that getting it into their heads that repair is a better option financially and environmentally would be too difficult.
People are scared because of what they see on the news, this is a nice good news, “save money” story so it could well get taken up. Of course it may need some fleshing out, but I have a few ideas there. 😉
Aside from anything else it could serve as a call to join the TA if it flies at all.

It constantly amazes me how I forget things then recall them weeks and months later.
I took a punt, the email is gone.
I spoke to Lawrence, John and Ian about this (I think) as well as running past a few others as well a while back and everyone agreed that what I had in mind was a good idea. So, me being me, I decided to take a punt on it as my gut tells me it’s the right thing to do.
So here’s the deal I mentioned to Lawrence…
UKW will match, pound for pound, any spending by the TA on PR work and, if there’s any benefit for ISE then ISE will pay in something to the pot. This reduces the costs for all but gets the message out there as effectively as we can given the constraints we have to operate within.
I’ll see what shakes out but the PR agency I’ve used is the same one John used for ISE and, they’re downright dirty as well as not really giving a stuff who they upset so long as the story and message get aired.
My hope is that it drives business to the local repairers that are TA members as well as serving as a call for recruitment.
It’s a gamble, yes. But, it’s not doing nothing.
