Participanthi, firstly i appologise for the long post.
i have a 1503As wash machine & the other day it stopped mid cycle and i noted some burned out tracks, one to pin 2 on the last connector on the LHS from the front. Anyway, i bridged these and all worked fine until the end of a wash cycle where there was a pop some smoke and the house fuse box tripped. i found a burnt out track from the capacitor between the two timer/control modules and the main ac track. I bridged this and the machine works fine. HOWEVER, the door is permanently locked. If i select short spin, the machine ticks round to it, starts pumping, spins a few times then for about 3 minutes then the timer continues to the stop position BUT the door remains locked.
Looking at previous threads, i think maybe the lock has had water leak onto it and fused as the inside was wet. Is there a way to override this lock as its very hard to get to and i can easily access the 3 wires which go to the last connector – i noted one is permanent 220VAC and the other two presumably switch the solenoid. I tried shorting them to earth 1 at a time – 1 of them tripped the house fuses and tried tying them to 220vac one at a time – no effect at all. I moved & live in Turkey and its impossible to get a decent technician to help me out here and decent new machines cost 400gbp plus !!!! do i have to break the door open ????? or can i lever off the mechanism ??? also there is a square apperture in it, is this a manuall release ????

Hi, I can’t help with releasing the door catch, not my area (electrics and electronics is) but I did want to warn against connecting any switch outputs to earth, you effectively shorted the mains to earth which is why your MCB popped in the house. It’s a major hazard because although the MCB should trip off within a safe time (going by UK standards) for that short period before it trips, everything earthed in the entire house has voltage potential on it, so if you or anyone else is touching any earthed metal and happens to offer a parrellel lowish resistance path to earth, there’s a danger of shock. Sorry can’t help with reason for post…

Door interlock will probably be faulty – well documented problem with Blomberg machines due to some genius puttimg it under the soap drawer. It’s http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Washing+Machine+Parts/Blomberg/Door+Locks/55X3636+-+Brandt{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}2C+Blomberg+{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}252526+Proline+Washing+Machine+Door+Lock.html]HERE if you choose to replace it.

If you leave the mains switched off for 5 minutes and the door still does not open then it is definitely the door lock faulty.
As Penguin45 says it is a well documented problem with water in the door lock blowing the module tracks.
