I Have just recieved a new Dishwasher motor from BSH part no 490984.
The problem is it seems very tight to turn. In fact i have to put a screw driver in the ally fins at the back of it and use a fair bit of force to turn it. This cant be right can it? I dont want to start trying to lubricate the bearings if i have to return it. Any suggestions please.
No certainly not right. I suspect the bearing end housings may just be twisted slightly? Loosen the fixing bolts and try aligning the ends and stator for a better fit. As a general rule normally you can easily move the rotor with your finger. 😉
