ParticipantHi Folks.
Went to this job a few days ago, The fault was not pumping water up to drawer and “container full” light illuminated.
I dismantled and cleaned the pump which was blocked with hair etc.
I got called back today because although the container now fills up, the “container full” lamp does not come on, even if the sump is full to overflowing.
The float switch seems to be working ok, ie closed when sump is full, open when empty. Connection to float switch seems sound.
Looks a simple enough system, but anyone got any yuletide reading on this?.
Happy Christmas everybody,
Regards,
Mike

I can only guess that when you stripped the pump you possibly didn’t connect the float switch lead correctly? 😕

Thanks Martin.
I checked the float switch for correct operation at the idc plug adjacent to the pump. When the sump is empty the microswitch is open, if you fill the sump up with water the microswitch contacts close, but the light does not come on. Personally i think its something to do with the module, but I cant see what I would have done that would affect the module. (Fortunately for me the customer stood behind me and watched everything that I did.). I would like to have a bit more info on this one before I start diving into the module.
Many Thanks, Mike

Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me, does the float switch at the sump just actuate a LED on/off function, or does it at the same time stop the dryer (via module) to prevent further condensate increase?
ManyThanks in anticipation,
Mike.

from memmory, the float will, via the pcb stop the machine to prevent more water fronm collecting in the base. Is the machine stopping when the trays are full?

Hi Beever,
Thanks for your prompt response to this one.
The machine does not stop when the float raises and closes the microswitch. There is no indication from the user instructions that the dryer should stop, only that the container full light should come on and the buzzer should sound when the drawer is full, this does not happen. the buzzer can be switched on and the volume altered, but it does not sound when the drawer is full. Looks like a module problem to me.
Thought I would have a little peek at the module, sans info.
