Meery Christmas Folks.
Just had a phone call about an old Bendix WR540W washing machine that blows the mains fuse when the washing cycle is about to heat up the water in the drum.
Thanks to the great service from UK Whitegoods via DHL the element came straightaway but I think this old Bendix does not have a rear inspection plate to get to the immersion heater at the back of the drum?
Does this mean that the whole half of the outer casing has to be unbolted to get access for the new heater to be fitted?
What is the standard procedure to get to the element which measures around 35 ohms but I think it is leaking to earth when power is applied as there is a 1/2 meg to earth from the element with wires taken off.
Anybody who can throw some light on pulling the rear outer casing off the washer/dryer to make life a little easy for repair.
Happy New Year to UK Whitegoods and their great service for 2009.
Chris
