ParticipantHi
Have been to look at this one the evening where the customer is complaining of it causing condensation on the windows of the house and there is very little water being collected in the bottle. She claims that it is drying the clothes no problem and the unit has sat in the same place since 2005 without any problems. Customer advises that no changes have made to the house/heating/ventilation/windows etc since the unit was installed and this fault has only been there for the last month.
Drove me made she did.
stripped unit and found no blockages in filters, vents and fans. Valve for bottle, float and water ducts all clear.
Any ideas what it could be ???????????

It may be S.I.O.B or indeed the very cold weather we are experiencing right now? 😕
That covers the psychological and meteorological aspects quite nicely I suspect. But from a basic engineering viewpoint, and looking at what information we have so far, I’m left wondering if the front and rear drum seals are doing their job?
The fact that the dryer works OK and yet little water goes into the water container brings out my self obsessed inquisitive engineering mind into the equation. And for that I must seek your forgiveness? 8)
Remember: The customer is never wrong and those that ….

…..then a few extra quid charged for replacing 3 year old and well worn drum gaskets will give her lasting peace of mind in that you tried everything to solve her ‘problem’. Non tantum illigitimus carborundum…. 😈

Happy new year to you all.
There is a bit of a haze and hangover as I try to get to grips with your replies but I am sure as the information slowly filters through it will make sense.
I will recheck seals on the drum when I go back but did not think that they had gone as the inside of the drier is so clean (show room clean). It could be the cold weather but customer claims that aga is on 24/7 heating house.
Again thank you

No, it’s nothing to do with your drinking habits, it’s just Martin showing off his latin; something about a grindstone by the sounds of it. 😕
