Hi, please help, i have the above dual fuel model twin oven.
I am not looking at fixing myself, but after advice/support on what could be wrong – and a suitable engineer in Staffordshire.

Our main oven went on tonight, and after 30 minutes we checked the food, and it was nearly cremated, the oven clock was not working and the orange light was off, so was the oven internal light – but the oven was still heating i think(not sure if fan had stopped though).

I tried the main oven 15 minutes later and the fan would not work on the main oven and it would not heat, but the top oven worked fine.

I turned everything off, and let it cool down, then proceeded to turn it back on and test if the thermostat light would go off at various intervals of temperatre setting. This did happen upto about 150 Deg/10 minutes in time, so we turned it up to 200 Degree’s.

5 minutes later there was a big bang, and the oven internal door glass had shattered!.

I have since turned the oven off, but would like advice on what could be the fault please with the potential overheating or something i think, and also a good engineer in Stafforshire UK

    Thanks
    Matt

It sounds like a thermostat failure but, if memory serves me, that cooker should have a safety stat on it as well to prevent overheating that way.

It’s certainly worth looking at I’d think although Smeg parts aren’t exactly cheap.

You can try our repairs@ service to find an engineer.

    K.
