Access panel which snaps out of the back with the mains cable on it.

Chris you must have long fingers! Had to strip it down to replace it – what a pain especially when I found the part supplied was wrong one and I had to go back.Plastic bottomed boschs are coming into the workshop if they need stripping.

If it suits you to go to all that trouble and expense then that’s fine but as Chris rightly says the mains cable/filter unit just snaps into position from behind. No need to take any panel off as a rule but an alternative method is removing the lid and r/hand side panel to access it easily enough. 😉

The mains suppressor that I first received(the wrong one) had 3 tags on it.The one on the machine had 2 wires going in(L & N),an earth tag and live and neutral tags to the machine. It was released with a small plastic catch and lifting it upwards. In retrospect I could have released it by unclipping the water valve cover and slipping a screwdriver underneath to lift it up.So I’m under the impression there are 2 different versions of this part or is there a modification?

The actual plate that the suppressor sits on will unclip from the rear. No need to remove any panels at all.
AFAIK there is only one version.

More than one type guys…….
I attended a Bosch machine with no suppressor on the flex mounting plate. Think of the plate with the suppressor removed – then wires from these terminals to a remote suppressor (very similar to a Smeg dishwasher type) fitted into vertical slots at the back of the machine in the middle. Virtually inaccessible behind the heater and hard to spot at first.
To remove the suppressor, locate the release tab on the base in the middle. It is a small square recess which you depress with a terminal screwdriver and with your other hand holding the suppressor wires, wiggle like hell and the suppressor will slide up and out.OR……do it the “Easy way”
Pull the wiring off the suppressor and remove the remote wires. Then fit a generic suppressor from an Indesit (small cylindrical type with 2 wires and an earth lead) and connect it across the terminal block according to the markings on the flex plate. The new unit can then be zip tied to the loom. Leave the old suppressor in place.
Much easier and a ten minute job. I learned the hard way…..1/2 hour and then….. 💡
HTH,
Steve.
