This d/w takes about 15 mins to fill – then works o.k. – have checked metering tank for blockages – seems o.k. – water pressure o.k. – are there any hoses which could block to cause this problem or is it likely just a faulty solenoid causing problem? ( filter clear)

This appliance needs good water pressure and flow rate to work correctly so what your saying doesn’t make sense? The metering tank has an air gap the water has to jump, if the pressure/ flow rate and to low it fills via the breather and causes it to overfill and lock out the float switch or pressure switch on the valve.
Got to be poor supply or blocked salt pot?
Pinky – I have watched it fill in the metering tank – it takes about 15 mins for the water level to raise the float switch – the machine then starts to wash o.k. – removed inlet hose from valve to check pressure – o.k. – was thinking maybe the solenoid was not lifting the valve properly and maybe constricting supply.
