Hi, I have a 1 year old Hotpoint BWM129 which has recently started leaking from the soap tray during the wash cycle. Is this a common problem and has anyone else encountered this?

    Re: Hotpoint leak

If it leaks during fill then you need to turn down your water pressure and make sure the soap drawer is clean.

If it leaks during the cycle, particularly on rinse & spin then you may have a partial pump or sump blockage.

As this machine is 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit the pump filter is accessible at the front at the bottom right hand side.

I just hope that the installers have left enough room to access the filter. :rolls:

Also putting to much detergent in can cause leaks from the drawer.

    Jim.

    Hi Jim,

    thanks for the info.
I have checked the filter already and it was clear.
My wife does tend to put too much detergent in so I will make sure the drawer is clean and cut down on the soap and see how things go.

    Thanks
