Hello all, I bought a 2nd hand American Style FF (model number GC2227CDFW) but unfortunately it has come without a user guide and the Admiral and Maytag websites don’t show one as available any more, I’m guessing this model is a few years old.

The main problem is that the power cable I expected to find hanging from the back of the appliance is not there, instead there are three wires appearing from the rear of the appliance, at the bottom, each with what looks (at first glance) a spade-type connector. I assume these are simply Earth, Neutral and Live wires, but I’ve never seen any appliance with this type of connector before. Can anyone tell me if this is common, and how I should go about connecting to a household power supply.

    Many thanks

I have exactly the same problem – did you get a response?

I contacted Admiral about it by email and phone, they said they’d get a UK convertor / adaptor and send it to me, took the money from me, then I never heard from them again. All my phone calls went unanswered, and I eventually gave up and scrapped the fridge freezer. I will never deal with them again. Probably not the response you wanted – maybe you’ll have better luck with them though.

    Good luck

    Derek
