Energy-saving tips and appliance instructions say don’t place a fridge/freezer near a radiator. My questions are:
How near is near? I have placed the fridge-freezer (Bosch Exxcel) against the wall adjacent to the edge of a small radiator with a 4 cm gap between them, the max possible with the current room arrangements. As far I can tell the heat from the radiator rises up and out into the room, not behind the fridge and it does not seem to make the fridge body warm.
The instructions also mention placing an insulating plate between appliance and heat source? What is this, how is it done and where could I get one? Any other tips?
Thanks
