    Hi, my Hotpoint Superplus 7822 has given 12 years of service. However in the last couple of days, when I open the door after a cycle has finished, there is about 2″ of water in the base of the dishwasher.

    I’ve removed and cleaned the coarse and fine filters thoroughly, and checked the hose. Still not draining.

    Any advice? Is there a separate drain pump fitted that could need replacing?

    Yes there is a seperate pump and it will either be blocked or has failed altogether,they are not a bad job to change,though can be a bit pricey.

    A good quick check you can do is : in the sump the water exits through some fin like blades, these clog with pips and sweetcorn etc, give this a look!…also if the machine drains through a sink connection check the cone that the drain hose joins too!
