ParticipantAs stated in the thread title I got a mild shock from the front lower half of the casing.
Long story cut short 😀
New kitchen fitted and machine was moved to allow install.
Would it be cost effective to have fault diagnosed and repaired?

i would check if the machine has been plugged in to an extension lead, and if so ensure that either there is an earth in said extension or that the earth hasn’t come adrift . failing that, this must be checked by an electrician as a matter of urgency ! 😯

The machine is plugged into a new remote switch which has been checked by an electrician, he tells me the fault lies within the machine.
To the best of my knowledge the machine was fine until all the moving around.
BUT
It is possible the fault has been there for sometime and was only discovered because I had my wet hand on the sink and touched the machine.

your sinks probably not earthed properly

That was my thought too however (silly Q alert) would that account for the shock being received by the hand touching the machine? Also the ‘shock’ was not strong enough to trip the RCD.

Participantexactly
it wont trip, since your sink isnt earthed
theres definately an earth missing somewhere

There is one earth wire attached to two copper pipes under the sink, should there be more???

Touching the casing 2″, directly above the filter door is the only part of the casing that’s ‘live’.
Now the fun begins 😳 😯 😯

Have the front control panel off and can see two wires down in the area where we know the casing is live.
Problem, how do we access those wires?a) take front panel off completely?
b) tip machine on it’s side and gain access from under the machine?

only 1 part of the casing wouldnt be live, metal is conductive and so are we if the casing is live it will be live all over not just on part of it, the long and short of it is you have an earth problem and it needs sorting, with all due respect to you working blindly will not cure it you need a professional so call the sparky back and get him to sort it out, or an engineer in to test machine for earth leakage.
