I have a Powerpoint TW24,it is very noisy when the cycle starts, and does not complete the wash cycle properly – however it seems to drain OK and the noise goes away at that stage.
Any ideas on what is wrong?

You’re posting from Ireland, yes? Powerpoint use proprietry machines which they badge-up and the quality seems variable. We know that some are Chinese in origin; this is not a “good thing”.

Your posts suggests a problem with the circulation pump. If you pop the door open once it starts to cycle, you should (briefly) see a good spray of water from the rotors. If you don’t you may have some sort of blockage, but I would suspect that the impellor is loose or sheared off inside the circulation pump.

    Hope that’s some help,

yes – I am posting from Ireland.

There is not a good spray from the rotors – so looks like a pump problem? Is that fixable? I presume that the circulation pump is underneath the machine? Is there any tricks to unblock it or check if it is working ok?

I can’t tell you exactly how to proceed – we have no tech info on these appliances, so I am unsure of what you’ve actually got. If you could post piccies, especially of the control panel and filter area of the machine, we might be able to be more specific.

General info though is that the circulation pump is always under the appliance and will be the biggest lump of metal under there. Slip two hose clips, the wiring to the pump and figure out what is actually holding the pump in position to remove it. The Chinese ones clip into a big circular spring; most others have some sort of bracket arrangement.

    Stay safe, power off first.
