My machine is taking the conditioner in with the main wash water. I’ve opened the drawer while it was filling and water is flowing from the jets into the conditioner compartment, pre-wash area and main wash area all at the same time. I did try turning the water pressure down, but this still trickles in through all 3 areas. Does this mean i need a new dispenser drawer and valve unit, i looked at this part and it’s all one unit?

If you open the drawer whilst the machine is filling you will divert the water into the wrong compartments.
What made you suspect the conditioner was going in on the wash in the first place?
By far the most common cause of premature fabric conditioner discharge is overfilling the compartmnet then slamming the drawer shut. This allows some conditioner to flow up over the top of the syphon tube which then drains all of the conditioner into the tub immediately.
If all of the valves are energised at the same time then it is more than likely to be a control fault.

Thanks for getting back-i originally forgot to put the conditioner in at the start of the wash, and the conditioner compartment was nearly full of water, but previously empty. I’m always careful closing the drawer, and the conditioner is a concentrate so just meets the bottom of the blue insert. I have taken the drawer out today and watched it filling-the water comes through the conditioner jets and all the other jets when doing the pre-fill, main wash and rinses.

MMM, not good news, unlikely to be a gunged up dispenser top, more likely to be a control PCB fault. Not one I have encountered, if it is the PCB then the best :rolls: option is to go back to the Indesit Company and get the job done under the five year parts warranty.
Hang fire for a while in case any of the current Indesit/Comet engineers have any other ideas.
