Just priced a heater for this model C00197456 Cheapest £52 of Mpart 😯 Retail £84.99 for a blo8dy heating element :rolls: no credit crunch with Merloni then they must be raking it in at these prices.

Anyone know of an equivalent please?

cannot imaginme why that is so expensive….52 also at Qualtex but its a special order. retail is shown at £69 so depending on discount rate, Indesit are the cheapest.

    Hi,
This machine was produced by Brandt for Hotpoint. BRA55X7303 s/o will be cheaper though.

    Re: Hotpoint WMTL79

Got one of these which has a slight leak through the bearing on the non-driven side (i.e. not the pulley side).
I can find two products available. One is 1500125 / C00197474 which seems to consist of a couple of large O rings ? together with 2 weird looking circular things which might be bearings but I wouldn’t bank on it. Encouragingly, the pic on Connect also shows the round bit of tin and a screw which are present at this location.
The other product 1500126 is described as “crosspiece”(Connect) or “crosspiece and bearing”(MPT) and no pic.
Has anyone done this job before?
    Mike.

    Re: Hotpoint WMTL79

Update. Decided against investing in a full bearing kit and went out to take machine apart and see what’s in it. Was easy job to get old bearing and seal out and I found the seal to consist of a “v-ring” running against a stainless washer. Only the v-ring itself seemed to require replacement so I googled and came up with a place called “Simply Bearings”. Had a browse through their site and made a telephone call at 5.30pm yesterday (Friday) to check a bit of technical detail. A very helpful chap answered right away and I went back to the site and ordered one using paypal. E-mail came back a few minutes later confirming it had been posted. Arrived this morning. Postage was just £1.50!
What a fantastic service! So a wholehearted recommendation to this firm,
