    Hi,

    Customer complained that food in freezer becoming soft, fridge worked ok for awhile but noticed it did not cool eventually.

    I called (customer out but had left key) and turned on the machine, it started up ok with refrigerant coming into the fridge ok.

    Thought might be intermittent problem so changed stat in fridge but has made no difference, the fridge works fine but freezer not working.

    I think she probably`imagined` the fridge not working.

    I need educating here. How does the freezer work as I notice there is a freezer stat too but only one compressor. I could not see any valves around the base where the compressor sits – have I missed something?

    Would changing the freezer stat solve the problem?

    Some guidance would be appreciated

    Freezer stat is only controls high temp light, fridge stat controls the compressor, where is it stituated if it is in a cold or warm enviroment, you can get the warning light coming on due to ambiant temp, had one in a conservatory i was called out summer and winter forwarning light coming on, other than that sounds like a system fault.JJ

    Thanks JJ,

    That info about the freezer stat puts it in perspective for me.

    The environment it is in is not a problem.

    I suspected a system fault and I think this now clinches it.
