ParticipantHi
My Rosiers Bocuse is extaordinarily inconsistant at regulating the oven temperatures, I replaced the thermostats and the door seals are good. Can anyone shed light on the problem, before my wife self destructs!
Thanks in advance. 🙁January 27, 2009 at 9:31 pm #275452admin

Hi
In what way do you think the tempratures are erratic ?
Are you pre heating ? if so how long ?

Thanks for responding Byan. After much ruined cooking I bought a quality oven thermometer to check out the real temperatures against those suggested by the knob setting. In all instances I put the thermometer in the centre of the ovens then read it once the orange lights went out. The fan oven generally runs 30 degrees hotter than the thermometer reads, the right hand oven runs up to 70degrees cooler than set, but this varies.

Hi
The correct way to test the temprature is to have the oven on for 1 hr with the thermostat in the centre of the oven.So all the shelves except one are removed.
right hand oven does seem very low, does both the top and base element heat up ?

Both elements work. I am in the process of checking the temperatures using the procedure that you suggest, more later

Mine is doing exactly the same thing, cooking an egg at 60 in five minutes on the left hand oven and not able to cook anything on the right hand oven ever, and it is only 6 months old.
