ParticipantFor some time my fridge (Siemens KS-24V02-GB/04) door has not been closing very well, it seems to be held shut very lightly, so the slightest pull will open it.
Now, having taken it apart this evening, it appears that the problem is due to a worn hinge causing the door to be slightly out of alignment. Unfortunately, the hinge consists of a plastic peg which goes into a round hole in the plastic top of the fridge door. After many years this hole has become oval causing the door to drop a little at one side. Any ideas as to how this might be fixed?
Is the plastic section (with the hole) at the top of the door a user replaceable (and still available?) part? Can some sort of insert be fitted in the oval hole to make it round again?
Thanks

Parts listing shows complete doors only. You can have a look on http://www.bshappliancecare.com – follow the links into the eShop module and enter KS24V02GB/04 for the exploded diagrams.

Thanks, it would be crazy spending £160.75 for a new door. Another option is to hang the door on the other side. However, when I tried that I was unable to prevent the door seal catching on the hinge side (I suspect because it’s become less flexible with age). So I’d been thinking of getting a replacement door seal, however I don’t see them listed. Do you know if they’re replaceable (and obtainable)?
Thanks

You’re probably right. Aren’t door seals normally replaceable though?
