ParticipantAnyone Help with wiring 4 a Halogen Element for a Creda 48339.
1st element delivered no packaging no leaflet and part smashed to bits. 2nd Delivered Leaflet says Wiring Instructions (leaflet 8200635) for an EIKA 1200-1800 Watt Halogen. But part in Box an EGO Halolight. Instruction Leaflet allmost the same as original part fitted with The Coil Element Having a permanent Neutral Wire, and picking up power via a small white wire Linked across to the Halogen Element and out via another white cable to the Temp Limitier. The New Replacement Halogen has fixed hard links into the Temp Limiter from Both the Coil Element and the Halogen Element, its completely diffrent from the supplied Wiring adaption leaflet. With only Terminals 1a 1b 2a and 2b on the Temp Limiter to fit the Supply Wires. Is this the correct Halogen? Anyone Help CheersFebruary 1, 2009 at 3:25 am #275849aqualectric

The easy way to see how these ‘plates are wired is to carefully (very carefully!!) lift and turn the mica limiter cover round on its rivet to expose the switches. Compare the switching – horizontal or vertical. All will become clear. 😉
Failing that, the hotplate supply from the regulator should fit to the terminal opposite (ie: switched to) the limiter to plate element hard link. The other 2 terminals on the limiter (usually above the aforementioned ones) are the “hob hot” warning lamp switch. The neutral wire is the tag on the side of the plate where the element coils finish.
Connect part number ELE7052 (£29.85 + VAT) is a “Ceramspeed” unit so IIRC should be a straight swap. I fitted one of these to a 48339 just before Christmas and it went in with no effort. The spec for the ELE7052 is 1800w and 200mm diameter.Hope that helps,
Steve.

Thanks Steve just looked up that part and its £66.97 inc postage. Does It have the same terminal cofiguration as the original part As Now had 2 sent to me (1 smashed to pieces) with Creda Part Number COO228950 and Partmaster Number HPT6203429. Wiring Leaflet totally diffrent to the Element supplied inc Make

First of all, £66 is far too expensive. The Connect ELE7052 is £29.85 + VAT supplied in a plain box: but being a Ceramspeed unit it should be the same unit as the original. The wiring configuration on the one I fitted was a straight swap. 😉 There is a wiring diagram in the box; but it is quicker and easier to look and compare the terminal set up on both plates side by side. They are probably the same – as I found.
HTH,
Steve.
