ParticipantI have an AEG B4101-4 Single oven and as of around 2 weeks ago the cooling fan has been running constantly. This does not appear to affect any other operation of the oven (ie oven, grill etc), and appears to be the opposite of some other faults that I have read about (ie cooling fan not operating and causing main thermostat to cut out after a short period of operation).
I am wondering whether it is likely to be the same fault, namely the cooling fan contol.
Any advice?

Is it the fan at back of oven or fan on top of oven that continues to run? Cooling fan (on top) should stop after temp’ is acheived. It may not be cutting out because of a faulty temperature switch. PNC number needed to identify specific part required.
Power off when testing 💡

It is the cooling fan on the top of the oven. It’s blowing cold air out of the top vent, there is no sign of the fan in the back of the oven turning.
I assume the top cooling fan is meant to monitor the temp during and after usage, and when the temp returns to more or less room temp cut out, except it is not cutting out.
I’ve read threads on the cooling fan cutting out early or not starting during use, causing the main thermostat to cut out due to over heat, however I’ve never read anything so far on why the cooling fan should remain on forever. It’s been running now for weeks, tunrning power off, then back on does not help. I would have assumed a damaged cable etc would cut the circuit and prevent the fan starting rather than preventing it from turning itself off.
sorry the PNC is 944185051.

Did you find a solution? I have the same problem now with my AEG and wondered what you did to sort it out.
Thanks in advance

No, I did not find a solution.
The fan ran permanently on for 3 months.
Then earlier this week the fan went off altogether. Now we can use the over for around 15 minutes before the oven overheats and the master thermostat turns itself off. This appears to be a more common problem than the one I started with as I have read a few threads within this forum on this particular oven turning itself off after 15-20 minutes. The recommended fix is a new cooling fan thermostat, so I intend to try that and see if it also fixes the initial problem. i just hope that have had the cooling fan running for 3 months did not cause any other issues.June 3, 2009 at 9:32 am #276321Albanach

Did you fit the new cooling fan thermostat and did it work?
I have a Competence B1180-1 (I will follow up with proper P/N as I’m at work) with the same problem in that the cooling fan does not turn off after using the oven. The oven works fine but the fan will not turn off.
