    I ordered a replacement thermostat for my Hotpoint Iced Diamond Fridge/Freezer Model RF64P on the internet & the one I received only had two pins apart from the earth connections. The guy online said it was the right one for my appliance.
    My old thermostat (K59 P3126) has a third pin in the centre to which two brown wires fit on to, I think one brown goes to the light switch.
    Please could anyone tell me if I can adapt this thermostat to make it work & if it is possible, where to put the brown wires?

    The guy on the internet has sent the wrong one, for this model it uses whats known in the trade as a VT9 stat, this has three contacts.
